Buns with Feta Cheese and Dill

Here we are again, with a new savoury recipe idea for breakfast or snacking. I guarantee that you will love these flavourful buns if you are a fan of feta cheese.

These buns are made with very nutritious ingredients. However, they are especially rich in calcium, protein and fibre. Feta cheese and yoghourt are excellent sources of calcium and protein, whereas oat flour is great in feeding our good gut bacteria, by being a source of fibre.

This recipe makes 12 buns. Although, you may also double the ingredients and make more, in case you may want to make many and freeze them to be consumed later.

Frozen buns can be best reheated on the oven.

Ingredients:

  • 1 block of feta cheese
  • 2 tbsp yoghourt
  • 4 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 7 tbsp oat flour
  • Generous amount of finely chopped fresh dill
  • Pinches of salt and pepper
  • Sesame seeds and black cumin seeds to sprinkle

Method:

Pre-heat your oven to 180°C.

Start by mashing the feta cheese by fork to small pieces.

Then, mashed cheese and the rest of the ingredients are combined to form a semi-sticky dough.

Roll about a tablespoon of the dough between your palms to form a bite-size bun. The dough would make 12 buns.

Place the buns on a tray.

Then sprinkle some sesame seeds and black cumin seeds on your buns for some extra deliciousness!

Bake them for 25 minutes in pre-heated oven.

Enjoy!
